Vietnamese New Year at Footscray VSL
01 March, 2017
As part of the Vietnamese New Year celebrations at the VSL Footscray City centre, the junior primary Vietnamese students enjoyed a colourful display of dragon dancing. The Vietnamese New Year, Tet, is considered the biggest festival of the year in Vietnam. It is celebrated on the first day of the first month in the lunar calendar and the celebration lasts for many days. The Vietnamese believe that the color of red in particular will bring good fortune, and when gifts are exchanged between family members and friends, children receive lucky money which is kept in a red envelope. May the New Year ahead be filled with health, happiness and success
