Korean City Excursion
27 June, 2018
The senior Korean class from Point Cook enjoyed an excursion into the city of Melbourne. The students met at Federation Square and from there, they had to find their way to a mystery destination by listening and following recorded directions in Korean. In groups of three, they were given different routes to the mystery destination, which happened to be the State Library. The students then visited a variety of Korean grocery shops, where they conversed with the shopkeepers in Korean, asking questions about the produce, price and availability of items, concluding with successful purchase transactions. The last stop was a Korean restaurant, where students ordered food using Korean specific vocabulary and phrases that they had practised in class. Enjoying a delicious Korean BBQ lunch was a wonderful way to end such a successful day, full of enjoyable learning activities and experiences!
