Mothers Day at VSL Dandenong
29 May, 2018
On May 12th the faculty of Kannada (the main language spoken in the Karnataka region of India, invited its community, especially all mothers, to attend a little thanksgiving ceremony. It was the first time that we had the pleasure to see the passionate staff serving its community with great love and care for its mothers, knowing very well that without the support of the parents, its classes from F – Yr8 would not be able to run. The success of the community support is evident in the opening up of a third class this year, and of course the VLS will continue to support the Kannada language - one of our newest members of the VSL – community! Well done all and thank you for your support and trust in the VSL language program! At the same time, Hungarian, one of our oldest faculties, has also arranged for its annual honouring of mothers in recognition of their support for their classes. It is only due to the passionate and diligent work of our staff, Eva Bartha and Agnes Korlaki, and their tight connections to the Hungarian community that the Hungarian language classes have enjoyed a relatively steady enrolment paired with some great results among the senior level groups!
