Greek Mothers Day at Glen Waverley
01 June, 2018
To honour Mothers Day, the Greek faculty at Glen Waverley Centre presented a variety of short performances before mothers and grandmothers. The mini concert started with a couple of short videos, by Paolo Coelho, presenting the cycle of life and the significance of a mother’s role in every child’s life. Many mums and grandmothers were emotional watching the videos and also their children performing. Songs sung by our students were chosen to show gratitude and respect to our mothers .The lower school students presented personal comments on ‘why they love their mum’ and a song . The second part of the presentation was dedicated to grandmothers. A traditional song and funny poems where presented by middle school students. The upper school presented a small theatrical performance, poems, and proverbs relating to mothers, and finally a dance. The highlight of the evening was to involve all mothers and grandmothers in a dance. A Greek gathering cannot be complete without a traditional dance! The evening was very entertaining and successful, filled with laughter and emotional moments. Denise Katiforis Greek Co-ordinator
